Leaves of Gold Gallery
Every retailer strives for “Customer Satisfaction” I am striving for “Customer Joy” At Leaves of Gold Gallery, my goal is to create jewelry that will be passed from one generation to the next. Each handcrafted piece tells a story. My design inspirations come from nature, architecture, history, travel, my dreams and my mistakes. Some of my most popular pieces began as gifts for friends. When I created jewelry that held meaning in their lives I found it struck a chord in the lives of others also.

In my custom work, I have a special fondness for commemorative pieces and jewelry that parents commission for their children.
I was a bond trader on Wall street for 19 years. I was successful enough but I always felt it was a bad fit. From the beginning, I looked forward to the day I could leave trading behind. In the early 90’s, my mother, brought me an opal from Australia. While searching for setting ideas, I found Cecelia Bauer, a gifted jeweler who ran her own school in a loft in the Manhattan fur district.

This was it. From my first class, the more I learned, the more I wanted to learn: new techniques and tools, gemstones and metals. I went to Cecelia’s studio on Saturdays and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology on weeknights.
My departure from Wall Street came in April of 2000. I was sharing a small studio on Avenue C and eager to begin my career as a jeweler. Six Months later, through one of those twists of fate, I found my beautiful studio and home in the historic Depot district of Manchester Center while visiting good friends in Dorset. In January 2001 I became a Vermont jeweler.

| Today, my dog Kita guards the store, my cat Mimi watches the counter and I sit up in my studio playing and experimenting and making what I hope you will see as beautiful, meaningful jewelry. Please come see me if you’re in Vermont. |
